Field trip for interior design students

The Interior Design Department, in cooperation with the Marketing and Public Relations Unit, organized an educational field trip for interior design students to Shangri-La Resort (Barr Al Jissah). With the aim of enhancing students' understanding of their specialization by answering students' questions and helping them to take information and facts on the ground in the field. Where the students were received and welcomed by the resort team, introducing them to its history and origin, and how and the stages of building this edifice. A tour of all the resort's facilities was also carried out, and students were introduced to the types of materials used and the ornaments that were engraved and carved by Omani hands. It also talked about the design of the hotel restaurant’s decoration, which was inspired by its design to be in the form of a ship, in addition to the most important paintings displayed on the hotel corridors and how to choose them as they represent the various Omani fashions from the various governorates and states of the Sultanate. After that, the students toured to see the hotel's external courtyard overlooking the sea, and they were introduced to how to use and coordinate these squares using umbrellas for recreation. In the end, the visit was concluded with a tour of the classic car exhibition organized at the Shangri-La Hotel.
