The Defense of the First Master's Thesis at Oman College of Management and Technology

The first master's thesis in the history of Oman College of Management and Technology was discussed and defended on the college's campus in the presence of Prof. Dr. Waleed Hmedat, Dean of the college on Monday, March 28th, 2022. The thesis was presented by Ali Al Lawati, a student of accounting, and was titled: The Effect of Board Characteristics and Ownership Structure on Earnings Management Practices in the Industrial and Service Sector firms Listed in Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX): An Empirical Study.The discussion committee was chaired and supervised by Prof. Mishiel Suwaidan, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Yarmouk University, Jordan, Dr. Marwa Al-Kalbanieh, an external examiner from Sultan Qaboos University, and Dr. Gbenga Ekundayo, an internal examiner from Oman College of Management and Technology. The discussion was attended by the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research, heads of academic departments and a group of students, professors and staff at the college.
