The college participated in the workshop presented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology on the Future of Artificial Intelligence program and its impact on society, in the meeting room of the Office of the Governor of Rustaq, on Monday, 09-25-2023. The team from the college participated, consisting of Mr. Louay Al-Naimi from the Department of Computer Science and Management Information Systems and Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Balushi from the Department of Financial and Administrative Sciences, in addition to a team of college students, namely: Ali Al-Khitari, Muayyad Al-Hinai, Al-Muatasem Al-Hatali, and Hazza Bait. relief.
The program aims to review the developments of artificial intelligence, and the challenges and opportunities it can provide to society and the economy. It also aims to build a society prepared to deal with modern technologies, enhance public understanding of artificial intelligence, use it ethically and sustainably, and reduce the fears associated with it. This program comes within the Artificial Intelligence Program and its impact on society, as it was implemented in the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Buraimi, and North Al Batinah, with the aim of increasing awareness about artificial intelligence and its effects on society, as part of the initiatives included in the National Program for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technologies, whose implementation is supervised by the Ministry. The program emphasized the importance of spreading awareness and building capabilities in the fields of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.
