OCMT organized a lecture titled "Protecting Ethical, Religious, and Family Values in Gulf Societies"

The Student Affairs Department organized a lecture titled "Protecting Ethical, Religious, and Family Values in Gulf Societies" on Monday, March 25, 2024. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Khalafan Bin Salem Al Busaidi, Head of the Family Development Department at the Development Office in Barka Governorate. During the lecture, Dr. Khalafan highlighted the importance of ethical and religious values in maintaining societal cohesion and fostering a sense of tranquility. He emphasized that Islamic teachings are a primary source of these values.

Dr. Khalafan also addressed the impact of religious values on Gulf societies, illustrating how they reflect the cohesion of Gulf families and encourage respect, dedication to serving others, and compassion for the poor and needy. He further underscored the significance of family values in Gulf societies, noting that families serve as a primary source of support and solidarity in various aspects of life, playing a crucial role in preserving heritage and family culture.

The lecture also discussed the challenges facing ethical, religious, and family values in Gulf societies, such as technology, social changes, the adoption of Western values, and cultural transformation. Finally, some proposed solutions to enhance ethical and religious values in Gulf societies were reviewed, including raising awareness among generations about the importance of preserving these values and developing educational programs to reinforce them in Gulf communities.
